Hey everyone! Maisie here. I missed a few weekly updates because Wells and I got sick. We think we had some sort of flu that gave me vertigo to the point I couldn’t get out of bed. Fortunately we are feeling much better now and back into the swing of things!
I’ve been able to make some progress on page 2 while sick but not nearly as much as I wanted to. I’ve attached some progress photos so you can see what I mean:
It’s been a slow trot getting to this point of production. Between making the Celebration of Life Center feeling distinct from the outside and drawing in perspective, this has been a labor of love. There are still perspective issues and there is still work yet to be done on this page, but every step is a step closer to completion.
I need to look into the perspective tools on Procreate. I find it a little tedious to use and I wish there was a way to “undo” a vanishing point perspective.
In the meantime as I learn the Procreate perspective tool, I’ve cracked open my copy of: Framed Perspective Vol. 2 by Marcos Mateu-Mestre. This book has been a lifesaver in helping remember and re-learn perspective drawing. I think Mateu-Mestre breaks down the information in an intuitive way that you could pick up and use very quickly. Plus, the artwork used as examples are quite spectacular.
I should thank my old college professor for recommending this read.
Back to work I go! Until next time!
